Presenting the collection of Ben Fields of Fort Worth, TX. The sale will offer rare and many unique paperweights and encased glass objects from many of the world’s top artists. Including examples from: Paul Stankard, David Graeber, Chris Buzzini, Debbie Tarsitano, Antonio De Rossi, Clinton Smith, Parabelle Glass, John Deacons, Saint-Louis, Ken Rosenfeld, Richard Loesel, Stephen Boehme, Zachary Jorgenson, among others.
Some highlights include a Paul Stankard Mask paperweight, and a Floral Bouquet Orb with Fruit. Two unique David Graeber Salamander paperweights which represent his first two examples produced as “Mantua Art Glass” after assisting Paul Stankard for many years. These were David Graeber’s first two commercially offered paperweights. Also included are rare examples by Chris Buzzini including an extremely rare Butterfly “star” paperweight, which the artist placed on examples that we felt were perfect executions, two additional star weights will be offered, and three Floral Bouquets with Buttato cutting to the edge.
There will also many millefiori and Murrine paperweights, cut ends, and coins. A wide selection of unique and artist proof Parabelle millefiori examples will be available including Piedouche and Chequer/checkberboard patterns. Murrine objects will feature the skill of artists such as Stephen Boehme, Antionio De Rossi, Tara Roberts, and Zachary Jorgenson. Many of these examples are in the forms of coins or marbles/orbs and represent among the highest levels of skill in Murrine objects.
